Position Overview
The General Laborer / Forklift Operator plays a key role in the daily operations of SR1 Companies. This position is responsible for safely unloading, organizing, and staging equipment, attachments, docks, and trailers, maintaining a clean and professional yard, and assisting the sales and service teams with any/all daily tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts, telehandlers, and other yard equipment
- Unload incoming trailers, equipment, and attachments
- Stage and organize inventory for sales and service teams
- Perform basic forklift/telehandler maintenance (greasing, filters, etc.) and report any issues
- Assist with assembling tractors, attachments, and trailers as needed
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and professional yard presentation
- Support the Sales & Service teams with daily tasks and communication
- Follow all SR1 safety policies and promote a safe working environment
- Work outdoors in a wide range of weather conditions throughout the year
- Assist with plowing, shoveling, and salting when needed
Qualifications
- Prior forklift experience preferred; willing to train the right candidate
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail and ability to stay organized
- Team-oriented with good communication skills
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
