Crane Operator/Groundsperson

Responsibilities:

• Operate radial crane to load/unload log trucks.
• Operate utility tractor to maintain yards and roads.
• Mechanical duties to include performing crane & other heavy machine inspections, routine maintenance and repairs to ensure proper functioning.
• Ground person duties include maintaining grounds, cat walks, roads, etc. around conveyors and chipping equipment.
• Welding repairs to equipment as needed.
• Follow safety protocols and guidelines as well as maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe working environment.
• Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements:

• Excellent attendance.
• Proven experience in operating heavy equipment such as excavator, bulldozer, utility tractor, and/or mobile knuckle boom. (Forklift, pallet jack and production line machine skills are not useful for this position).
• Valid driver's license.
• Strong knowledge of safety procedures and protocols related to heavy equipment operation.
• Physical stamina to operate heavy machinery for extended periods of time.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
• Ability to work independently as well as with a team.

Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year heavy equipment operating experience in a construction or industrial setting.
• Mechanical aptitude with trouble shooting, repairing, & basic preventative maintenance on various heavy equipment.
• Welding skills further qualify you for this dynamic role.

• Schedule is usually 6:30 am – 5 pm Monday – Friday.
• Saturdays aren’t typical but may be required occasionally.
• Overtime is earned during the basic work week on a regular basis.
