Job Description:

The Retail Pharmacy Technician / Pharmacy Courier supports the pharmacists by assisting in the preparation and dispensing of prescription medications, managing inventory, and providing excellent customer service. This role is vital to the daily operations of a retail pharmacy, ensuring patients receive accurate, timely, and safe pharmaceutical care.

• Accurately and efficiently prepare prescription medications under pharmacist supervision.
• Enter patient and prescription information into the pharmacy system.
• Label, count, and package medications under the supervision of a pharmacist.
• Greet customers, answer phones, and respond to general inquiries in a courteous and professional manner.
• Answer customer questions and provide assistance at the pharmacy counter.
• Handle insurance claim processing, prior authorizations, and troubleshooting rejections.
• Receive and stock incoming medications and supplies, checking for accuracy and expiration dates.
• Check for expired medications and follow proper disposal procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and secure work environment in accordance with pharmacy regulations.
• Collect payments, manage register transactions, and assist with over-the-counter product sales.
• Follow all state and federal regulations, including HIPAA and Board of Pharmacy rules.
• Coordinates, schedules and oversees material flow to and from Scotland Health Pharmacies to patients and hospital departments. Responsible for providing consistent and timely distribution of forms, office supplies, medical supplies, equipment and prescriptions.
