Our client is a well-funded, fast-growing consumer goods brand establishing a new U.S.-based manufacturing facility in the Greater Nashville area. This brownfield operation is undergoing rapid development and will become a cornerstone of the company’s North American production footprint. The new site is poised for high visibility within the organization and will be instrumental in enabling long-term operational scale.
Position Overview
This is a unique opportunity for a proactive and organized Senior Sourcing Specialist to join a greenfield operation at the ground level. Reporting directly to the Director of Finance & Procurement, this individual will lead tactical purchasing for all materials and indirect goods needed during the start-up phase, while helping establish foundational procurement systems, workflows, and supplier infrastructure.
The role is on-site and designed for individuals who thrive in fast-paced, build-from-scratch environments with strong exposure to cross-functional leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Start-Up Phase (First 6 Months):
- Purchase and manage raw materials, packaging, consumables, and MRO to support facility launch
- Create and manage POs, delivery tracking, and vendor communication
- Implement basic procurement processes, systems, and documentation standards
- Collaborate closely with planning, quality, and operations teams to ensure material alignment with production timelines
- Source and onboard indirect vendors needed for facility readiness
Growth & Stabilization (6–18 Months):
- Evaluate supplier performance for cost, reliability, and service quality
- Develop dual/triple sourcing strategies to support risk mitigation
- Improve procurement reporting and inventory strategies in partnership with production planning
- Contribute to the design of long-term sourcing strategy and team expansion
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience:
- 2–4 years in purchasing, sourcing, or procurement; manufacturing environment preferred
- Demonstrated ability to manage full purchasing lifecycle: POs, vendor communication, delivery tracking, issue resolution
- Cross-functional experience working with operations, planning, and leadership
