Job Description: Director, Foundations Projects
Location: Fremont, CA (Hybrid: 4 days onsite, 1 day off-site)
The Director, Foundations Projects position will be based out of our Fremont, CA office. In this role, you will oversee a team of Project Managers and Sr. Project Managers, ensuring best-in-class service for their assigned customers. You will guarantee safety protocols are followed on project sites and manage customer accounts and projects from procurement to commissioning, all while providing technical support and maintaining top-tier customer satisfaction. Additionally, responsibilities include overseeing customer accounts, guiding project teams, managing account/project finances, coordinating logistics, and advocating for customer needs within the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Safety Leadership: Hold responsibility for your own safety and shared responsibility for the safety of all company staff, contractors, and visitors to your project sites. A strong understanding of WHS principles and safety management is required.
- Compliance: Read, understand, and comply with company policies and procedures as outlined.
- Account & Project Management: Manage entire customer accounts or groups of projects from PO to Commissioning, taking full ownership of all project lifecycle aspects.
- Team Leadership: Supervise 5 or more direct reports to effectively manage a complete team of Project Managers and Sr. Project Managers, ensuring their success and professional development.
- Technical Support: Offer technical support for customers, ensuring a best-in-class experience while providing expert product and systems knowledge.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Develop and maintain a comprehensive technical understanding of PV solar tracking systems and associated tools.
- Customer Care: Deliver an exceptional customer care experience and effectively communicate resolutions for customer issues. Serve as the internal voice and advocate for the customer within the organization.
- Resource Coordination: Coordinate tool orders for projects and ensure the availability of required tools and training.
- Financial Oversight: Manage Project P&L, including revenue forecasting, invoicing, cash flow, and cost management.
- Field Support & Quality Control: Provide customer field support for installation and quality control. Drive resolutions to quality issues utilizing Non-Conformance Report (NCR) and Construction Deviation Report (CDR) processes.
- Logistics & Execution: Coordinate and drive the successful, on-time delivery of all products needed from PO to final delivery by liaising with Design Engineering, Supply, Logistics, freight forwarders, and customers.
- Performance Tracking: Establish, measure, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) for customer care to optimize behavior and team performance.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Play a pivotal role in cross-functional product teams, providing recommendations based on systems integration expertise and customer feedback. Support product development, sales, and marketing as requested.
Here Is Some Of What You’ll Need (Required)
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of combined Project Manager and Sr. Project Manager experience gained within the energy, construction, mining, or oil & gas fields.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
- Leadership: Demonstrated leadership capabilities with the ability to manage direct reports with a high degree of professionalism.
- Project Management: Strong, proven project management skills and relevant qualifications.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills alongside top-tier customer service capabilities.
- Operations & Logistics: Experience interfacing with supply chain procurement, logistics, and handling customer support or O&M issues.
- Industry Passion: A genuine passion for solar or renewable energy, backed by strong knowledge of PV technology and its applications.
- Hands-on experience with photovoltaic tracking solar systems is a major plus.
Salary : $210,000 - $230,000
