JOB TITLE: Homefinder
DEPARTMENT: Homefinding/Intake
LOCATION: Deer Park/Queens/Brooklyn

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: Certify and Recertify Foster/Adoptive and Kinship Foster Parents, provide foster parent training and support the placement of children in the foster home. |

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain foster parent records in state and agency child welfare systems.
- Conduct home visits to complete a Safety Review of the home for initial and recertification of homes.
- Conduct comprehensive interviews of all home members to complete homestudies for kinship and non-kinship families.
- Conduct pre-certification NTDC and Kinship NTDC training for prospective kin and non-kin foster parent applicants. Conduct recertification training which includes TRIPP training and in-service training for active/certified foster parents.
- Liaison between casework staff and Foster/Adoptive and Kinship Parents.
- Participate in Placement Preservation Conferences as needed.
- Meet monthly with Intake to assess vacancies in each home on caseload.
- Complete tasks assigned by supervisor as needed to support the foster care program.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Degree: BA/BS required MSW preferred
Other skills and requirements:
- Strong communication skills in writing and speaking. Bilingual preferred.
- Excellent assessment skills and ability to engage.
- Computer literate. Experience working in Connections a plus
- Valid driver’s license preferred
