We have several open opportunities for Service Technicians/Service Engineers. Our Service Technicians are key to delivering a top notch customer experience for installation, commissioning and repair of computer controlled industrial woodworking machinery. This position works out of your home-based office and travels extensively nationwide.
Your work-from-home location can be located almost anywhere in the US. Preferred States are: Southern California, Austin, Texas, Southern Florida, Great Lakes Region (Chicago), New England
The Service Technician travels throughout the assigned region.
Performs the construction, assembly, installation and commission of CNC industrial woodworking equipment. Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical problems and/or the built-in hardware & software control programming, which includes relay control circuits, electronic boards.
Essential Job Duties
· Perform installations and start‑ups of SCM machinery at customer and dealer sites.
· Execute preventive maintenance, repairs, and both warranty and billable service interventions.
· Provide operational training to machine end users.
· Operate in compliance with SCM’s technical and safety standards, ensuring precision and quality.
· Represent the company professionally, maintaining personal appearance, punctuality, and clear communication with customers.
· Report commercial opportunities and relevant technical feedback to internal departments.
· Accurately record all activities and times in the CRM system.
· Collaborate with fellow technicians on complex installations or projects.
· Contribute to skill development through continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications
· Experience in maintenance, installation, or technical assistance.
· Practical knowledge of mechanics, electricity, pneumatics, and automation.
· Strong communication skills and customer orientation.
· Fluent English required; Italian and Spanish preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
· Technical education in industrial disciplines.
· Experience with multiple SCM technologies.
Physical Requirements
· Physical work in industrial environments (lifting, assembly, wiring).
· Frequent travel and week‑long assignments away from home.
· Strict adherence to safety standards.
Pay: $35.00 - $37.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 60.0 per week
