Title: QC Technician/Inspector II
Location: Mountain View, CA (onsite, 24 hours/week, flexible schedule, come in when you want as long as between 9am-4pm, contract through 2026).
Compensation: $25-35/hr based on experience
Overview
This is a newly-created role for a QC Technician to join an existing team of 1 full-time QC generalist and 1 Document Control specialist, all reporting to the hiring manager. The QC technician will be supporting incoming inspection, non-conformances, and calibration coordination. This is a part-time, 24 hour/week contract role that has potential to grow into a full-time position.
Core Responsibilities
- Perform incoming/receiving inspections of forceps components and assemblies
- Use measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, ruler, vision systems) to verify specifications
- Document inspection results in accordance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
- Identify and report non-conformances; support investigation and containment
- Review Certificates of Conformance (CoC)
- Assist with calibration coordination
- Assist with CAPA activities and root cause analysis
- Review Device History Records (DHRs) for accuracy and completeness
- Support line clearance and manufacturing readiness
- Maintain inspection equipment and ensure calibration status
- Collaborate with Quality Engineers and Manufacturing teams to resolve quality issues
Must-Haves (Non-Negotiables)
- 2-5 years experience as a QC Inspector in a medical device environment (Incoming preferred)
- Experience using measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, Micro-Vu)
- Technical drawing familiarity
- AQL calculation with sample size
- Microsoft Excel proficiency
Nice-to-Haves
- Robotic surgery device experience
