Human Resources Business Partner

Responsibilities

• Business Partnership — Acts as a trusted advisor to managers on people issues, works with Finance on offers and comp budgets, connects talent strategy to business goals, and serves as the go-to resource on policy/compliance (looping in legal when needed).
• Employee Relations & Investigations — Runs workplace investigations end-to-end, guides managers through PIPs/discipline/terminations, and flags ER trends early to head off bigger issues.
• Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning — Advises on leveling, role design, and internal mobility for long-term workforce planning.
• Performance & Talent Management — Helps run performance cycles, coaches managers on goal-setting and feedback, and supports identifying/developing talent and closing gaps.
• Culture, Inclusion & Engagement — Drives culture through engagement surveys and action plans, supports best-workplace initiatives, and stays visible/accessible across the org.
• Learning & Development — Builds and delivers employee training as needed.

Experience & Education

• Bachelor's in HR, Business Admin, or related field
• 5 years of progressive People & Culture experience, including 3 years as a Generalist/advisor — ideally at a startup medical device company
• Diverse HR background spanning TA, comp, ER, investigations, performance management, DEI, and talent development
• Strong preference for medical device/biotech/regulated industry experience
• Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-growth, ambiguous environments
• Solid grasp of employment law, leave administration, and benefits basics
• HRIS/ATS proficiency (ADP Workforce Now and Greenhouse a plus)
• Strong Excel/Word/PowerPoint skills
• Excellent communicator who can flex style from frontline staff to executives
• Data-driven mindset — able to use metrics to inform decisions and build a people narrative
• Strong project management skills, juggling multiple priorities at once
