Position Summary
The Human Resources Officer (HRO) is responsible for maintaining all traditional human resources functions. This role plays a key part in recruiting, retaining, and supporting qualified employees while fostering a positive and supportive workplace culture.
The HRO reports directly to the Executive Director/ Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and provides leadership, support, and direction to Home Managers and the Staff Development Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all core human resources functions
Recruit, hire, and retain qualified employees
Provide leadership and support to Home Managers
Promote and sustain a positive organizational culture
Support staff development and training initiatives
Prepare and maintain HR documentation, policies, and procedures
Lead meetings and deliver group presentations
Ensure compliance with Medicaid and employment requirements
Complete required electronic government reports
Collaborate with program and agency staff as appropriate
Work Schedule and Expectations
Salaried, exempt position
Bi-weekly salary
Expected to work more than 40 hours per week as needed
Occasional after-hours calls required
Some out-of-town travel required
All deadlines and organizational expectations must be met
Qualifications
Progressive management-level experience in human resources
Strong interpersonal skills demonstrating compassion, objectivity, and assertiveness
Proven conflict resolution skills
Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Excel
Ability to manage and post to company Facebook pages
Strong written communication skills, including narratives, correspondence, policies, and procedures
Comfortable leading meetings and making group presentations
Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record meeting company insurability standards
Compensation
Annual salary range: $49,920 to $60,320, based on experience
