Paralegal

Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Paralegal for our valued government-affiliated client, providing essential legal and administrative services to the community. This position is full-time, onsite in San Rafael, CA.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

This temporary Paralegal position supports legal operations related to probate, conservatorships, juvenile dependency, and related matters. The role provides direct support in preparing, reviewing, and filing legal documents while ensuring compliance with applicable codes and procedures. This is a two-month assignment providing critical coverage.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare, review, and file documents for probate, conservatorships, juvenile dependency, and related matters.
• Conduct legal research and ensure compliance with applicable laws, codes, and procedures.
• Manage and organize case files, financial records, and documentation.
• Support Public Records Act responses using internal software (Next Request).
• Utilize judicial council forms, court filing systems, and case management tools.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience supporting legal work in probate, conservatorships, juvenile dependency, litigation, or similar areas.
• Strong knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and document preparation.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work with minimal supervision by 90 days.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with ProLaw or similar case management software is a plus.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
