Director of Workforce Development

Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Director of Workforce Development for a mission-driven higher education client. This is a full-time, onsite leadership opportunity located in Bel Air, Maryland

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Director of Workforce Development is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing workforce and continuing education programs that align with regional labor market needs. This individual will lead multi-site teams, manage budgets and grants, and build strong partnerships with employers and community stakeholders. The role plays a critical part in driving strategic growth, program innovation, and community impact.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight of workforce development and continuing education programs
• Manage budgets, P&L, and grant-funded initiatives to ensure financial and operational success
• Build and maintain strong employer, industry, and community partnerships
• Lead and develop multi-site teams, including program staff and instructional personnel
• Analyze labor market data to align programs with regional workforce needs
• Drive program innovation, growth, and continuous improvement across the division

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Senior leadership experience in workforce development, continuing education, or similar environments
• Strong experience managing budgets, financial performance, and grant reporting
• Proven ability to build employer partnerships and community relationships
• Experience leading and developing teams across multiple locations
• Strategic, data-driven mindset with strong operational leadership skills

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

This position offers a competitive salary range of $80k – $100k, along with a comprehensive benefits package that may include medical, dental, vision, retirement plans, and paid time off.
