Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO, COO, and executive leadership team
- Lead the development of financial strategies and frameworks to support the organization’s mission, goals, and long-term growth
- Drive enterprise-wide decision-making through advanced financial insights, with a particular focus on D2C performance and scalability
- Provide actionable recommendations on business decisions, operational improvements, and strategic investments
- Lead the design and evolution of the organization’s unit economics framework, including LTV/CAC, payback periods, retention cohorts, and contribution margin across consumer segments
- Establish and continuously refine performance metrics and dashboards that provide real-time visibility into acquisition efficiency, customer behavior, and revenue performance
- Partner closely with marketing, product, and data science teams to evaluate and optimize customer acquisition strategies, pricing models, and retention initiatives
- Apply predictive and prescriptive analytics to improve forecasting of customer lifetime value and long-term revenue streams
- Drive a step-change in how financial insights inform growth strategy, ensuring the organization is leveraging best-in-class tools and methodologies
- Direct the preparation of financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and long-range plans
- Lead scenario planning, risk analysis, and business modeling to support strategic initiatives
- Develop forward-looking financial frameworks that align with evolving D2C and subscription-based revenue models
- Monitor and report on key financial metrics and organizational performance indicators
- Evaluate potential investments, partnerships, acquisitions, and affiliations for strategic and financial alignment
- Develop financial models to assess valuation, projected cash flow, profitability, and return on investment
- Lead financial due diligence and assess quality of earnings for proposed transactions
- Support negotiations with external partners, including bankers and advisors
- Oversee financial integration planning, including systems alignment, reporting standardization, and synergy tracking
- Provide strategic oversight of accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, payroll, and audits
- Oversee grant management, endowments, and charitable gift annuity programs
- Partner with the Controller to ensure adherence to GAAP, regulatory requirements, and internal controls
- Ensure accurate, compliant, and transparent financial reporting
- Liaise with the Board of Directors, including Audit and Finance Committees
- Serve as primary contact for auditors, regulators, and financial partners
- Develop and execute investment strategies aligned with organizational goals, balancing risk and return
- Manage cash flow, liquidity, and financing strategies to ensure operational stability and strategic flexibility
- Optimize capital structure and oversee banking and financial relationships
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Accounting & Finance team, fostering a high-performance, data-driven culture
- Build organizational capability in advanced financial analytics and decision support
- Promote continuous improvement, innovation, and professional development within the finance function
- Oversee the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program, including business continuity planning
- Provide oversight of insurance programs, including property & casualty and FINEX coverage
- Oversee the internal audit function in partnership with the Audit Committee
- Collaborate cross-functionally to align financial strategy with operational execution
- Lead initiatives to streamline financial processes and workflows across the organization
- Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
- Enhance data infrastructure to support real-time financial analysis and strategic decision-making
- Develop advanced dashboards, reporting tools, and predictive models
- Integrate business intelligence, machine learning, and advanced analytics to generate actionable insights on customer behavior, acquisition efficiency, and revenue optimization across D2C and B2B channels
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required; MBA or CPA preferred
- 15 years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior executive role
- Deep, hands-on experience leading finance and analytics in a sophisticated B2C or subscription-based business, with significant investment in customer acquisition and long-term revenue optimization
- Proven expertise in unit economics, including LTV/CAC modeling, cohort analysis, retention dynamics, and payback optimization
- Experience building or leading analytics-driven finance functions that leverage predictive and prescriptive insights
- Strong background in Financial Planning & Analysis, including strategic modeling and scenario planning
- Experience partnering with marketing, product, and data teams to drive growth and performance outcomes
- Experience in performance marketing analytics and data-driven customer segmentation strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience in valuation, financial structuring, and transaction support
- Strong understanding of financial reporting standards and compliance requirements
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution and attention to detail
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial concepts for non-financial stakeholders
