Executive Director

Scion Executive Search has been retained to conduct a search for the incoming Executive Director on behalf of BioLink, an innovative and rapidly growing organization connecting Lebanese professionals in the life sciences sector and driving impact initiatives for Lebanon.

This position offers a unique opportunity to lead a global network of accomplished life sciences professionals who are leveraging their expertise, relationships, and resources to advance a vibrant professional community and catalyze Lebanon’s life sciences ecosystem. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, this full-time position is based in the Northeast region, preferably New York.

ABOUT BIOLINK

BioLink is a 501(c)(3) apolitical and secular organization founded in 2022 with a mission to build and connect a global community of professionals of Lebanese descent working in or with the life sciences industry. What began as an effort to coordinate medical supplies and aid following the 2020 Beirut port explosion has evolved into a powerful international network dedicated to two complementary missions: building a thriving professional community and supporting initiatives that strengthen Lebanon’s life sciences ecosystem.

BioLink facilitates knowledge sharing, professional development, mentorship, and collaboration across its community. The organization has established chapters in New York/New Jersey, Boston, the Bay Area, and London. This footprint reflects a global perspective and a deep commitment to Lebanon and its diaspora.

BioLink partners with leading academic institutions, including the American University of Beirut, Lebanese American University, and St. Joseph University. Current programs include mentorship initiatives, educational workshops, community convenings, entrepreneur support, and international knowledge exchange.

The organization is governed by an accomplished Board of Directors representing leading organizations such as Moderna, Invus, Benta Group, Health Catalyst Capital Management, RA Capital, Altos Labs, Sofinnova Investments, Otsuka, and Nestlé Health Science.

POSITION OVERVIEW

BioLink is seeking an Executive Director who combines strategic vision with exceptional organizational and execution capabilities. This leader will guide the organization through a critical growth phase by clarifying priorities, strengthening internal infrastructure, deepening member engagement, and establishing sustainable pathways for expansion.

The Executive Director will ensure operational coherence, professionalized systems, and strong relationship management across the global network.

The ideal candidate brings entrepreneurial energy, strong EQ, a low-ego leadership style, and the ability to build structure in a dynamic and evolving environment. Experience in the life sciences ecosystem is helpful but not required. Candidates who are earlier in their executive trajectory, but demonstrate the drive, maturity, and capability to lead a growing organization, are encouraged to apply.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Drive BioLink's strategic direction and financial sustainability by articulating a compelling mission, developing diverse revenue streams, and fostering a culture of innovation and growth.
• Expand membership through creative recruitment initiatives that attract life sciences executives and emerging professionals while designing engaging programs that create meaningful connections within the community.
• Deploy fundraising and operational excellence capabilities to build financial sustainability through diversified funding sources
• Develop initiatives that leverage members' expertise to catalyze Lebanon's life sciences ecosystem and foster transformative partnerships across international boundaries.
• Build productive relationships with board members and serve as the organization's public representative, cultivating relationships with potential partners, members, and donors.
• Design and implement efficient systems and processes that ensure effective execution of events, communications, and strategic initiatives.
• Bridge cultural contexts between the U.S. and Lebanon, creating programming that resonates with diverse audiences while maintaining cultural authenticity.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Demonstrated success building structure, systems, or programs within growing or entrepreneurial organizations.
• Strong organizational abilities with a track record of managing multiple priorities while maintaining clarity, discipline, and momentum.
• Experience growing communities, networks, or membership-driven groups is highly valued.
• Exceptional communication abilities with a talent for creating compelling narratives and persuasively articulating value propositions.
• High emotional intelligence, low ego, and a team-oriented leadership style.
• Self-motivated, results-driven professional who takes initiative, solves problems creatively, and thrives in entrepreneurial environments.
• Comfort operating in dynamic, early-stage environments with evolving needs and opportunities.
• Strong connection to or understanding of Lebanese culture and experience with international or cross-cultural initiatives strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with the life sciences sector is strongly preferred.
• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in business administration, nonprofit management, life sciences, or related field preferred.

COMPENSATION

This opportunity offers an exciting chance to lead BioLink as its next Executive Director! This role offers a competitive salary range of $120,000 to $150,000, commensurate with experience. This opportunity, position, and mission will inspire you daily!
