We are seeking a Director of Clinical Education to lead the training and education programs that support the clinical adoption of our technologies. This role bridges science and communication: you will train internal teams — including sales, rehabilitation, and marketing — on the medical and scientific foundations of our products, and serve as a key point of contact with external stakeholders on medical and scientific issues.

This is a high-visibility role based in Alameda, CA, with frequent travel to clinical sites and partners across Europe.

Role Responsibilities

Train commercial teams on compliant scientific communication, including appropriate on-label messaging and frameworks governing healthcare professional interactions (e.g., Sunshine Act, MedTech Europe Code of Ethical Business Practice)

Lead 1:1 and group training sessions, both in person and remotely

Communicate with external stakeholders — clinicians, clinical sites, scientific partners, and others — on medical and scientific issues related to our technologies

Travel frequently to clinical sites and partners in Europe to deliver training and support clinical adoption

Attend and represent the company at medical and scientific meetings in Europe and the United States, supporting podium presentations, exhibit activities, and stakeholder engagement

Translate peer-reviewed scientific literature and clinical trial results into teaching materials, presentations, and reference documents for both clinical and non-clinical audiences

Collaborate with medical writing and clinical affairs teams on manuscripts, abstracts, training content, and educational materials

Gather feedback from trainees and stakeholders and iterate on education programs to improve effectiveness

Maintain current knowledge of relevant scientific literature and clinical developments in vision restoration

Key Qualifications

Medical training/experience in a medical/clinical field

Demonstrated comfort and skill leading both 1:1 and group training sessions

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with non-native English speakers

Facility with reading, interpreting, and teaching from scientific and clinical literature

Willingness and ability to travel frequently, including to Europe and to medical meetings in the US

Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple training programs and stakeholder relationships simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

Background in ophthalmology, optometry, or a related vision-care discipline

Operating room experience or familiarity with surgical environments and procedures

Experience with medical writing (manuscripts, training materials, regulatory documents)

Prior experience in medical device clinical education, clinical affairs, medical affairs, or as a medical science liaison

Familiarity with compliant healthcare professional engagement and promotional material review processes
