What are the responsibilities and job description for the PMEL Calibration Lab Site Manager position at Science and Management Resources, Inc?
We are currently seeking a PMEL Calibration Lab Site Manager to join our team at Tyndall AFB. The required skill set includes experience in managing an AF Metrology Lab, PMEL training, and experience gained from military school and hands-on bench work. Expected skill sets include physical, dimensional, and electronic measurement areas. Experience in overseeing calibrations, repair, scheduling, and metrology personnel is required. A successful candidate will have the ability to maintain production, manage deferred item tracking, and oversee calibration measurement scope, as well as the overall calibration lab, from input to completion of items at the Tyndall PMEL. A successful candidate will have experience in working with the MICT, Self-Assessments, internal and external audits, and Management Reviews. The successful candidate must be able to interpret calibration documentation, understand calibration processes, validate software, identify and resolve root causes of non-conformities, and produce coherent documentation. Applicants must possess good communication and organizational skills, and be able to work effectively with other team members as well as interact professionally with government employees. A successful candidate will be flexible to work with the SMR Program Management team.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum eight (8) years' experience in Test, Maintenance, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) calibration and repair, preferably in a military calibration lab. Experience includes management covering the inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, overhauling, aligning, calibrating, and certifying TMDE. Recent AF or AF lab experience is a plus.
Completion of a DOD-accredited PMEL School
Possesses the knowledge required to read and analyze block, schematic, wiring, and logic diagrams.
Knowledge of Air Force Metrology and Calibration Program requirements, including Air Force T.O , is a plus.
The ability to pass a background check for a CAC and Secret Clearance is a must. Secret clearance is required for this job. Current clearance is a plus.
