What are the responsibilities and job description for the 4th Grade Homeroom Teacher position at Science Academy of Chicago?
Science Academy of Chicago is looking for a highly qualified Upper Elementary Teacher to teach in the following areas: Language Arts, Social Studies, Mathematics, and Science adhering to IL Common Core State Standards (ILCCSS) and Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).
- Cultural competency and ability to move comfortably in a diverse community
- Bachelor's Degree (required) Master's Degree (preferred)
- Valid Illinois Teaching Certificate (preferred)
- Valid ESL Endorsement (preferred)
- Understanding of Common Core State Standards
- Strong skills in classroom management
- Preferred training and/or experience or willingness to increase knowledge and use of the following instructional and engagement strategies to include: Strong Classroom Management Skills, Student Centered Classroom, Workshop Model, Balanced Literacy Approach (modeled, shared, guided), Reading/Writing Process, Differentiation, Teaching and Learning Cycle (assessment, evaluation, planning, teaching), Collaborative Team Member
