What are the responsibilities and job description for the Early Head Start Coordinator position at SCICAP?
SCICAP Early Childhood Program is seeking a professional candidate to serve as an Early Head Start Coordinator for our Early Head Start program. The Early Head Start Coordinator will have the responsibility of overseeing our Early Head Start center and home-based services programs. The individual will provide supervision of EHS staff and ensure compliance with the Head Start Program Performance Standards.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provide leadership and oversight to ensure the delivery of responsive services in line with the Early Head Start Performance Standards.
· Ensure continuous quality improvement efforts to ensure children achieve their highest potential through providing high quality, culturally relevant, and inclusive home and center based programs.
· Observe, evaluate, and provide feedback on Early Head Start staff skills through reflective supervision.
· Monitor and support EHS staff in maintaining accurate, up-to-date records/data of child progress, parent goals, family recruitment, family health, and data entry into electronic data systems (ChildPlus).
· Supervise the five-county Early Head Start Home-Based program and home visitors
· Review EHS home visitor visit reports monthly
· Supervise the EHS Center-Based Teacher Director, providing quarterly supervision on their annual training plan and annual performance evaluations.
· Assist EHS Center-Based Teacher Director with overseeing EHS Center staff, ensuring annual training plans are updated quarterly and annual performance evaluations are completed in a timely manner.
· Complete observations on EHS Center-Based staff and EHS Home Visitors three times per year.
· Complete Socialization Observations – twice per year
· Complete monthly staff meetings with home visitors and Early Head Start Center
· Review EHS lesson plans weekly and give feedback
· Observe and score Early Head Start CLASS and give feedback on strengths and needed improvement three times per year.
· Train new teachers and teacher directors on CLASS as needed.
· Enroll new staff who need a CDA in CDA coursework in a timely manner. Assist with CDA completion plan and Professional Development Plans for TA’s. Follow up with staff working on CDA’s at least quarterly to track progress in their completion.
· Input all family contacts into Child Plus for Early Head Start Center and Home Base
· Other duties as assigned by the Program Director
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· Must have current physical for start of employment and then every three years
· No personal record regarding child abuse, sexual abuse or neglect
· Pass Criminal Record Checks before employment (DCI)
· Required fingerprinting at hire and every four years after
EDUCATION
· BA/BS in Early Childhood Education or related field
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
