Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Prototype Press Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, mechanical and hydraulic, presses. This role requires a strong understanding of protype die tryout skills, and manufacturing processes to produce high-quality prototypes parts. The Prototype Press Operator will collaborate with engineering and fabrication teams to ensure prototypes meet specifications and quality standards, contributing to the development of innovative products in a fast-paced factory environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate mechanical and hydraulic presses.
- Read and interpret blueprints, and cad drawings, and manufacturing instructions to ensure accurate production.
- Spot dies with metal
- Utilize precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and other quality control tools to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Maintain proper tooling setup and performance die tryout.
- Conduct routine maintenance on machinery to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Handle materials and dies using forklifts and crane as needed to load presses and move metal around the shop.
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed during operation of machinery such as, stamping presses, or welding equipment.
- Document production processes and report any issues or deviations from specifications to management team.
Qualifications
- 3 years minimum on prototype press experience. But will correct person.
- Strong prototype press operator Tryout skills.
- Welding on Kirstie dies or willing to learn
- Spot tools with metal
- Ability to operate forklifts safely within a manufacturing facility.
- Skilled in using precision measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers for quality control purposes.
- Knowledge of tooling setup, including dies with nitro's and cushion presses
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations related to machining tolerances.
- Prior factory or warehouse experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality assurance during prototype production.
