What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Supervisor position at SCHUTZ CONTAINER SYSTEMS INC?
Summary
The primary responsibilities include coordination and team work with the maintenance manager; The Maintenance Supervisor will report to the Maintenance Manager and will be responsible for maintaining the quality and reliability of our products and services.
Essential Functions
- Ensures that maintenance technicians are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated.
- Creates daily schedules to make sure he maintenance department in the night is fully staffed.
- Communicates directly with the operations department to coordinate maintenance and repair work in process areas.
- Conducts maintenance employee performance reviews to determine competency, knowledge, and qualifications.
- Maintains and repairs manufacturing equipment.
- Tracks work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of plant equipment within SAP.
- Prepares maintenance reports, analyzing maintenance data, and making recommendations for improvements.
- Communicates regularly with all maintenance technicians, both individually and as a group, to ensure good two-way communication concerning maintenance issues.
- initiating and carrying out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.
- Tracking, analyzing, and improving key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, PM compliance, schedule compliance, etc.
- Maintaining safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Ensures that city, county, state, and federal regulations relating to the maintenance department are met at all times.
- Directs, maintains, and enforces the safety program for the maintenance department; reviews safety records to uphold standards of maximum safety for all maintenance technicians.
Essential Physical Functions
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position, often sitting or standing for prolonged periods.
- Regular use of office and computer equipment
- Ability to transport oneself up and down inclines, slopes, steps and platforms.
- Ability to maneuver around operating equipment and machinery.
- Ability to lift move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills to include: MS, SAP and Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong background in electrical program controllers, motors, drives and components.
- Experience with SAP and Prevent Maintenance software computer programs.
- Strong hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical skills.
- Can read, write, and comprehend procedures English.
- Ability to successfully lead others.
- Ability to multi-task
Qualifications
- Previous experience in inventory control, receiving, organizing, and managing a parts room is required.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
