What you will do
- Interpret technical drawings, GD&T, and job requirements with confidence.
- Set up, monitor, and change tooling per setup sheets and program needs.
- Align and secure fixturing and accessories to match job scope.
- Commission automation: choose robot programs, update pickup points, and configure inspection sequences.
- Load/verify CNC programs, adjust control data, and execute commands for stable operation.
- Run trials to validate machine settings and programmed control data for new/updated work.
- Perform in-process inspections using inspection sheets and precision gauges; fine-tune offsets to optimize throughput and quality.
- Keep tools, gauges, and accessories organized in drawers, shelves, and the work area.
- Stage and support raw material for upcoming jobs.
- Flag sequencing changes and nonconformances to the supervisor or programmer.
- Maintain a clean cell; complete routine maintenance and report repair needs.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of CNC turning and milling experience required; prior mill-turn experience preferred (or an equivalent mix of education and experience).
- Strengths: Troubleshooting, CNC Machine Repair, CNC Machine Installation, Production Setups, Manual Machining.
- Direct exposure to Okuma, DMG Mori, or comparable equipment; comfort with toolholding/components.
- 5 axis VMC
- 5 axis lathes (Okuma, DMG Mori Seiki)
- Do you routinely take a print from setup sheet to stable production with tight tolerances?
- Can you select and modify robot programs, adjust pickup points, and embed inspection steps?
- Are your benches, drawers, and shelves organized so the next job moves faster?
- Will you communicate early about sequence adjustments or nonconforming dimensions?
