Position Overview

The Veterinary Assistant plays an essential role in supporting veterinarians and technicians while helping ensure a smooth, efficient, and positive experience for our patients and clients.
✅ Key Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians and technicians during exams and medical procedures
- Safely restrain pets for examinations, treatments, and diagnostics
- Prepare exam rooms and maintain cleanliness throughout the hospital
- Maintain accurate medical records and enter information into the practice management system
- Clean, sterilize, and organize instruments and treatment areas
- Provide compassionate care and monitoring for hospitalized patients
- Educate clients on basic preventive care and post-visit instructions
Qualifications
- Previous veterinary assistant or animal care experience preferred (but willing to train the right candidate)
- Strong animal handling skills and comfort working with dogs and cats of all temperaments
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude
- Ability to lift and restrain animals weighing up to 40 lbs with assistance
