Summary Of Responsibilities
The Doyle Center community work-study position will help provide educational support to students served through the after-school program. Students must be self-motivated, dependable, and have a passion for helping young students with homework help and assist with organizing team games.

The Doyle Center community work-study position will help provide educational support to students served through the after-school program. Students must be self-motivated, dependable, and have a passion for helping young students with homework help and assist with organizing team games.
Essential Functions
- Create a professional and welcoming environment by modeling respect for students' diverse cultures, language skills, and experiences
- Support students to become more confident, more successful, self-directed learners
- Provide subject-specific content to help students
- Recognize the different learning styles and student preferences
- Utilize listening and questioning strategies as the primary tutoring method to diagnose student needs and monitor progress
- Be direct and kind with students at the same time
- Two semester commitment is required
- Tutors must have their own transportation. This is an OFF-CAMPUS job.
- Be enrolled as full-time student at Schreiner University.
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude under stress.
- Experience working with children is preferred. All majors are encouraged to apply.
- Agreeing to a background check is a mandatory requirement for this position
