Summary Of Responsibilities
Schreiner University in Kerrville, TX invites applications for a tenure track position as Assistant Professor of Agriculture and Natural Resources Management (ANRM) to begin in August 2026. Schreiner University launched the ANRM program in Fall 2024, and the successful candidate will continue to facilitate development of the program.
We seek an individual with a strong commitment to undergraduate education in a liberal arts environment, and leadership potential to develop and grow this new program. Primary responsibilities include building and facilitating courses at all levels of the ANRM curriculum, including introductory courses and a variety of upper-level courses. A qualified candidate will hold a Ph.D. in ecology, natural resources, or plant sciences and possess expertise across rangeland ecology, soils, watershed management, GIS, and plant biology. They should have demonstrated teaching ability, field research experience, and the capacity to deliver both foundational and advanced courses in the ANRM curriculum. The successful candidate is expected to establish and maintain a productive scholarship program that provides opportunities for undergraduate student research compatible with resources available at a primarily undergraduate institution. Typical duties for the position include teaching 12 hours per semester; service to the program through forward facing recruitment activities, service to the university through committee work, serving in positions of leadership, and/or sponsorship of student organizations; establishing relationships with local industry to support the Agriculture and Naturally Resource Management Program; staying active in the pursuit of scholarly activity; and advising students in pursuit of their degrees and in future career options.
Qualifications
An earned doctorate in Agriculture and/or Natural Resources Management (or a closely related field) or ABD with completion no later than August 2026. Teaching experience and a demonstrated interest in working with diverse groups of students is preferred.
