The instructor for Art History course(s) will oversee and lead and facilitate students through Art History 1 and Art History two ( respective semesters) . Supervises and lectures and instructs students pertaining to the Art History curriculum. Follows the University academic schedule, and is responsible for recording and submitting grades, and instructs through the LMS, Canvas. Posted syllabi and basic communication with students on expectations is expected. The delivery/modality method for Art History course(s) will be online. Must have a minimum of 18 credit hours pertaining to Art History.Knowledge and understanding of disciplinary subject matter at a level adequate for undergraduate -level instruction; written and oral communication skills sufficient to conduct effective teaching activities; ability to interact with students, staff, and faculty in a professional, collegial, and collaborative manner. MFA preferred, but equivalent teaching experience and/or professional/industry experience accepted provided University transcripts show minimum of 18 hours of Art History.

ART HISTORY I This course includes a Formalist survey of Western visual arts from Pre-history through the Middle Ages designed to enable students to recognize and appreciate artworks and other artifacts from cultures of the past, to grasp the perspective of time, and to develop the ability to verbalize about works of art on at least three levels: historical, descriptive, and evaluative. 2341. ART HISTORY II This course includes a survey of Western visual arts from the Renaissance to the Postmodern era intended to inspire an understanding and appreciation of the essential place of art in the experience of human life and to help students to develop and communicate ideas about visual culture. This course may include an optional content-oriented travel/ research component during the spring break.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver lectures, seminars, and/or laboratory offerings to undergraduate students.
- Develop course syllabi, select instructional materials, and design assessments such as exams, quizzes, papers, etc.
- Assess student performance, provide timely feedback, and evaluate student learning outcomes to inform teaching practices and curriculum improvements.
- Engage students in active learning, foster critical thinking skills, and provide opportunities for discussion, collaboration, and hands-on learning.
- Provide academic support and guidance to students through office hours, feedback on assignments, and mentoring.
- Adhere to university policies, academic integrity standards, and accreditation requirements related to teaching responsibilities.
- Incorporate innovative teaching methods, technologies, and pedagogical approaches to enhance student learning and engagement.
- Provide assessment documentation and record outcomes according to the SLO’s and the University’s Assessment practice and monitoring.
