Internship Overview
The Accounting Intern will support the Accounting team in maintaining financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with daily accounting operations. This internship provides hands-on experience working directly with the accounting team while gaining exposure to financial reporting, order processing systems, and the operational side of supporting clients in the consumer goods industry. This internship will be 8 weeks long.
The intern will assist with entering financial transactions, reconciling purchase orders and invoices, and organizing financial documentation. This role offers a unique opportunity to learn how accounting processes support business operations, client relationships, and financial accuracy while collaborating with multiple teams across the organization.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Help maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
- Enter financial transactions into accounting systems and spreadsheets.
- Enter and process accurate and timely orders using the GenWeb system.
- Assist in reconciling purchase orders with customer invoices and payments.
- Support updates to journals, ledgers, and other accounting records.
- Organize financial documents and maintain electronic and physical filing systems.
- Assist with data entry and verification to ensure accuracy of financial information.
- Support the accounting team with routine financial tasks and administrative work.
- Participate in special projects or process improvement initiatives as assigned.
- Participate in team meetings to gain exposure to accounting processes and business operations.
- Gain exposure to accounting operations within the consumer goods industry.
- Learn how financial records support business operations and client services.
- Develop skills in financial documentation, transaction entry, and reconciliation.
- Work alongside experienced professionals within the Accounting and Finance team.
- Understand how accounting systems and financial processes support overall business performance.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Highly analytical with the ability to demonstrate sound business judgment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Comfortable working with computers, calculators, printers, and other office equipment.
- Must be able to work approximately 20–30 hours per week during Summer 2026.
- Must be currently enrolled as a college student.
