Duties
- Supervise children during classroom activities, playtime, meals, naps, and transitions, ensuring their safety at all times
- Implement age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
- Follow established curriculum guidelines and adapt activities to meet individual needs of children with diverse abilities
- Communicate effectively with parents about their child's day, progress, and any concerns that arise
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment in compliance with health and safety standards
- Respond promptly to emergencies or behavioral issues using approved behavior management techniques
- Assist with classroom setup, material preparation, and daily documentation as needed
Skills
- Demonstrated experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or early childhood education settings
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and age-specific caregiving practices
- Certification in first aid and CPR (including pediatric first aid) to ensure preparedness for emergencies
- Familiarity with special education needs and experience working with children with disabilities or developmental delays
- Strong communication skills for effective parent interaction and team collaboration
- Ability to manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement and clear boundaries
- Understanding of mandated reporting laws to ensure compliance with legal requirements for child protection
