As a substitute, you’ll have the unique opportunity to work with a variety of age groups across our West Metro locations, including Maple Grove, Rush Creek, Brooklyn Park, The Lodge in Ramsey, Big Lake, and St. Michael.
Schedule Options:
- Full-time or part-time

Pay:
- $17–$22/hour, based on experience and education
- Must meet DCYF qualifications for Assistant Teacher and Teacher

Primary Responsibilities-
- Implement weekly curriculum provided by New Creations
- Follow daily classroom schedules and routines
- Maintain a clean, safe, and engaging learning environment
- Collaborate with teaching staff and center leadership
- Build strong relationships with families and communicate regularly
- Actively engage and interact with children through play and learning
- Support children’s health, well-being, and development using positive guidance
- Perform additional duties as needed

Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:
- Previous childcare experience, preferably in a childcare center environment
- For Teacher/Assistant Teacher qualified positions- meets the education & experience requirements as defined by DCYF
- Exemplifies the standards and characteristics of a New Creations employee (responsible, flexible, reliable, positive role model, etc.)
- State DHS background check and fingerprints shall determine that the applicant has not been “convicted of a felony... has no criminal record that the commissioner reasonably believes renders the person unsuitable to be employed in a child care center.”
- Certification in Adult and Pediatric First Aid & CPR completed within 30 days of employment.
- All DCYF orientation training will need to be completed on day 1 of employment.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
With or without reasonable accommodation this position requires:
- Ability to travel on an ongoing basis.
- Extensive standing and walking; sitting on the floor and on low (12”) chairs.
- Frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling.
- Lifting and carrying children extensively in the infant/toddler program; less frequently in the preschool program, but the children are heavier.
- Frequent moving of equipment (cots, tables, etc.).
- Pushing children in buggies, strollers, and walking for considerable periods.
- The necessity of being outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Exposure to unpleasant odors and fluids caused by vomit (occasional) and bodily elimination.
- Relatively frequent exposure to loud noises (baby crying, toys falling and other common occurrences of children at play).
Salary : $16 - $22
