Job Overview
The School District of Lodi is seeking an innovative, service-oriented individual to join our district office team as the Administrative Assistant to the District Administrator and Board of Education. The person in this position must exhibit superior customer service skills as they assist with district-wide registration and serve as a primary contact for parents, staff, and the public. Candidates are required to have a high degree of organizational planning and attention to detail, with the ability to manage critical tasks such as posting board agendas, attending and recording meeting minutes for evening board meetings, and assisting with school board elections. A successful candidate will be a proactive communicator and relationship builder with strong software proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Docs, as well as the ability to maintain the district website and handle open records requests.
Requirements
Candidates must hold a High School Diploma and possess a minimum of two years’ experience in administrative assistant work. In addition, candidates must demonstrate competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Docs.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will be a proactive self-starter capable of performing responsible, complex administrative and clerical work with a high degree of confidentiality. As a relationship builder and collaborator, this individual must possess excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively engage with the school community. A strong background in organizational planning and a meticulous eye for detail are essential for establishing priorities and meeting critical deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Technical proficiency is a cornerstone of this position, requiring a deep understanding of various software applications for word processing, spreadsheets, and database management. Experience with student information systems, particularly Infinite Campus, is highly valued, as is prior experience as an administrative assistant within a school setting. Additionally, while not required, proficiency in Spanish is considered a positive asset for this role.
