General Role and Responsibilities:Serve as the attendance clerk for the school. Interact directly, via phone or e mail with students, parents, principal, staff members and public regarding all information that may take place on a daily basis. Process and maintain accurate records for all new and current students. Manage the School City of Hammond Student Information System.General Skills and Qualifications:Possess competent secretarial skills and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Suite Software.Specific Responsibilities in This Position:· Serve as the attendance clerk for the school· Maintain physical and electronic student data and attendance records· Prepare monthly attendance report for principal· Prepare various student reports· Assist Probation Officers with requests for attendance records· Call students to the office· Hand out passes to students who are late· Deal with issues involving poor attendance· Assist parents and students with bus transportation· Assist students who are leaving early· Operate standard office equipment· May assist with scheduling, documenting, and assisting with emergency drills· May assist with school messenger and radio communication· Perform all other duties as assigned by principalSpecific Skills and Knowledge for this position:· Proficient with computer· Maintains and respects confidentiality· Manage School City of Hammond Student Information System software· Must have good communication, computer, and interpersonal skills· Ability to compose letters and documents with clarity and accuracy· Ability to perform general mathematical computations with accuracy· Ability to solve practical problems with a variety of variables, either by phone or in personQualifications and Education Requirements:High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
