Title: Social Studies Teacher
Reports to: Building Principal
Terms of Employment: Full-Time/Up to 186 days
FLSA Classification: Exempt
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree (in a physical science) and hold a NH Educator Certification or be eligible for a site-based learning plan, as demonstrated by a statement of eligibility.
Job Goals:The social studies teacher maintains a strong mastery of historical, geographical, and civic content, designing inquiry-based lessons that challenge middle school students to investigate primary sources and explore diverse perspectives. By incorporating document-based questions and evidence-based writing, the teacher assesses critical thinking and monitors each student's ability to synthesize information about the world around them. The teacher fosters a classroom culture rooted in civil discourse, establishing a positive, high-energy environment where students practice informed citizenship and develop clear, respectful communication skills.
