Basic Position Details are outlined below:
- Operate the school bus over an assigned route, picking up and dropping off students at designated stops.
- Performs pre and post trip inspections as required by federal and state law including observing visual defects and that safety equipment is in working order,
- Maintain designated time schedules making every effort to be on time while ensuring a safe ride for students
- Ensure all traffic laws and local ordinances are followed as outlined in the CDL manual, School Bus Driver Handbook, and School Board Policy
- Upholds students discipline on the bus and implements rules for student conduct
- Provide written reports or undisciplined students in accordance with the bus driver handbook and school district policy
- Reporst all accidents/incidents immediately. Requesting emergency personnel services as needed; help injured persons until services arrive; and completes accident/incident written reports
- Participated in all required training
- Ensure the interior and exterior of the school bus is kept clean and all standards are met
- Maintain a positive and courteous attitude
- Communicates clearly and effectively with students and school administrators
- Perform other duties/tasks as assigned
Education, Certification, and Licensure
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Commercial Drivers License (CDL) A or B is required
- NH school bus cerificate (SBC) is required- training is provided.
