JOB ANALYSIS
The job of Payroll Clerk is done for the purpose/s of providing support to payroll processing and accounting activities with specific responsibility; processing pay and electronic time and attendance through District’s accounting software, responding to complex and unusual payroll problems and computational questions; ensuring compliance with mandated requirements; and maintaining confidential employee records.

Finance Director
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
(The following are illustrative of the responsibilities associated with this position and are not intended to be all-inclusive.).
- Produce and process bi-weekly payroll including preparation of payroll checks, direct deposits and payroll liabilities using Munis software.
- Communicates with staff and/or external parties regarding payroll information (e.g. time sheets, employment verification, distribution of withholding documents, etc.).
- Monitors assigned payroll activities and/or components (e.g. leave time, work location, budget control, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring compliance with established financial, legal and/or administrative requirements.
- Reconciles payroll account balances for the purpose of maintaining accurate account balances and complying with established guidelines.
- Resolves discrepancies with payroll and/or documentation (e.g. payroll, attendance withholding versus W4, salary status, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring accuracy of records and employee pay.
- Ensure that reporting to the IRS and the NHRS is completed in a timely manner
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate’s degree or equivalent preferred: Experience in accounting, bookkeeping or business office
- Three (3) year payroll experience required inclusive of preparing, verifying and processing payroll, preferably in the public sector
- Competent in the use of payroll software programs/MUNIS ERP
- Experience with Federal and State employment tax laws and regulations.
- Proficient with computer technology in the office setting including proficiency in Microsoft Office Products. Excellent keyboarding skills and attention to detail are required.
- Strong mathematical skills; Ability to perform mathematical calculations quickly and accurately
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present written documents that are clear, concise and grammatically correct.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Full year position. Refer to the contract between the Londonderry School Board and the position holder.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of Professional Personnel and Union Agreement.
