The Director of School Operations is responsible for building and leading the operational systems that allow our campuses to run at a high level every day. This role ensures that enrollment, attendance, facilities, technology, safety, and compliance systems are clear, consistent, and effective across all schools.

Serving as a strategic partner to Principals and Home Office leaders, this role leads operations teams and drives execution across campuses so that school leaders can focus on teaching and learning. Through strong systems, clear expectations, and consistent follow-through, the Director ensures every school is set up for success.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Organizational Execution & Systems Leadership

  • Translate organizational priorities into clear systems, processes, and expectations across campuses.
  • Design and standardize orgwide systems, protocols, toolkits, and operational playbooks.
  • Lead cross-functional problem-solving and remove barriers impacting school performance.
  • Lead implementation of new initiatives, ensuring clarity, adoption, and follow-through.
  • Conduct cross-campus reviews to ensure consistency, quality, and alignment.
  • Support execution of organizational communication systems, including website content, family messaging, and public-facing information.
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex operational or cross-functional issues.

Operational Planning & Performance

  • Lead annual and seasonal operational planning across campuses.
  • Ensure readiness for key milestones including start of year, enrollment cycles, testing, and major events
  • Monitor key operational metrics and hold teams accountable to performance expectations.
  • Lead performance check-ins and support improvement efforts where needed.
  • Oversee vendor relationships to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and accountability.
  • Assist with staffing analysis, workforce planning, and operational personnel coordination across campuses.

School Operations & Campus Systems

  • Oversee and strengthen core operational systems including enrollment, attendance, SIS, and compliance procedures.
  • Ensure strong execution of student recruitment, enrollment, and retention systems.
  • Support attendance systems, including SART processes and intervention strategies.
  • Support student services operations including medical billing, CYBHI-related processes, and coordination with program teams.
  • Support school meal program operations, vendor coordination, and compliance with nutrition program requirements.
  • Partner with Principals to strengthen daily campus operations (arrival/dismissal, supervision, events, logistics).

Facilities, Safety & Operational Infrastructure

  • Oversee Facilities and IT functions to ensure safe, functional, and responsive campuses.
  • Ensure compliance with safety requirements, drills, inspections, and emergency procedures across all sites.
  • Monitor ticketing systems and ensure timely resolution of maintenance and technology issues.
  • Serve as escalation point for urgent or unresolved facilities, safety, or technology needs.
  • Ensure operational readiness for school openings, events, and key initiatives

Authorizer Oversight & Charter Accountability

  • Lead coordination and oversight of authorizer relationships to ensure strong compliance, transparency, and organizational alignment.
  • Serve as a primary liaison supporting authorizer communications, reporting, and requests.
  • Coordinate submission of required authorizer deliverables, including renewals, material revisions, oversight visits, and data requests.
  • Ensure organizational readiness for authorizer oversight activities, including site visits, audits, and reviews.
  • Partner with academic and executive leadership to ensure alignment between operational practices and charter commitments.
  • Monitor compliance with charter terms, conditions, and performance expectations across all campuses.

Compliance, Fiscal Alignment & Governance Support

  • Coordinate all required state and federal reporting, including SARC, LCAP, CRDC, and CBEDS.
  • Stay current on changes in laws and regulations, and lead updates to organizational policies, handbooks, and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Track and monitor compliance with Facilities Use Agreements, MOUs, Certificates of Occupancy, and other regulatory documents.
  • Monitor the status and implementation of Board-approved policies.
  • Support ordering systems and ensure alignment with fiscal procedures and compliance expectations.
  • Partner with school and Home Office teams to ensure consistent implementation of compliance and reporting practices.

Leadership & Organizational Impact

  • Serve as a member of the network leadership team.
  • Partner with Principals as a peer leader and problem-solving partner.
  • Lead operational response during incidents, emergencies, or high-impact situations.
  • Provide clear communication and coordination during critical events.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7–10 years of leadership experience in education, operations, or related fields.
  • Experience managing teams and cross-functional systems.
  • Proven ability to drive execution, manage complexity, and lead through others.
  • Experience managing teams and cross-functional systems.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing or partnering on non-instructional systems.
  • Proven ability to lead and coach adult staff and managers across multiple departments.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Administrative Services Credential Preferred.
  • Possess a work ethic and personal belief system that aligns with the mission and vision of Scholarship Prep.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $105,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
