Position Summary
The Food Service Worker is responsible for assisting with the preparation, service, and clean-up of breakfast and lunch meals in accordance with the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) Child Nutrition Unit standards and USDA regulations. This role supports a safe, clean, and respectful dining environment that promotes ScholarMade's values and ensures all scholars receive nutritionally balanced meals daily.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Serve breakfast and lunch to students following USDA meal pattern guidelines and portion control standards.

Assist in the preparation of simple food items under the direction of the Cafeteria Manager.

Set up serving lines, steam tables, milk coolers, and utensils in compliance with food safety standards.

Ensure accurate counts for meals served, including alternate meals and special dietary requests.

Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen and serving area by following HACCP guidelines.

Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment according to safety standards.

Dispose of waste and food items in accordance with ADE and local sanitation codes.

Participate in required training for food safety, civil rights, and USDA compliance.

Engage with scholars respectfully and promote positive cafeteria behavior.

Report any food safety, student behavior, or health concerns to the Cafeteria Manager or school leadership.

Assist with inventory tracking and stocking of supplies as needed.
