About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Permit Technician to support the coordination, planning, and execution of road and railroad permit applications and associated drawings. This position plays a vital role in supporting both internal and external clients through the successful delivery of permitting services and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and verify that permit drawings align with approved design plans.
- Prepare and assist with applications, cover letters, and supporting documents for permitting submittals.
- Collaborate daily with the Permit Coordinator for assignments and updates.
- Submit and manage permit applications through external portals.
- Maintain accurate project information in the Schneider Permitting Portal.
- Conduct QA/QC reviews of permits prepared by fellow technicians.
- Attend and contribute to regular team meetings.
- Review existing railroad agreements with support from the Team Lead.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D (5 years preferred).
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and CAD graphic functionality.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Familiarity with GIS platforms and online research tools.
- Basic knowledge of Blue Beam or Adobe Acrobat.
- Solid understanding of utility infrastructure, engineering drawings, and permitting processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
