We are seeking a skilled Project Surveyor for our team located in Vincennes, Indiana, to plan, coordinate, and execute survey work for both internal and external clients. This role focuses on producing high-quality survey deliverables, from data collection and analysis to the drafting of plats and exhibits. While primarily office-based, you’ll also coordinate field crews and occasionally visit project sites.

As a Project Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and to the highest professional standards—applying your technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail to every stage of the process.
What you can expect in this role:
- Draft a variety of plats and survey documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D 2025, including:
- Land Development Plats
- Utility Easement Plats
- ALTA/NSPS Boundary Surveys
- Topographic Surveys
- Various Exhibits
- Collaborate with project managers, professional surveyors, and team leaders to evaluate project scope, schedule, budget, and instructions.
- Coordinate daily activities for at least one field crew and/or survey technician.
- Process and verify survey data using Excel, Trimble Business Center, and other survey programs.
- Conduct research on deeds, maps, and prior surveys; perform boundary analysis and determinations.
- Maintain exceptional relationships with internal teams and external clients.
- Organize and maintain project drawings, plot files, and related documentation.
- Prepare Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) for projects prior to initiation.
- Apply boundary law principles based on state and nation rules and regulatory standards to ensure survey accuracy.
- Contribute to team success with an 85% utilization target.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 2 years relevant technical education or on-the-job experience in land surveying.
- Associate degree in land surveying technology preferred.
- Field surveying experience is desirable but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in Trimble Business Center, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), and AutoDesk Civil 3D.
- Strong understanding of land surveying practices, procedures, and state standards of practice.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills with both internal and external clients.
