Job Description:
The Knowledge Manager is responsible for helping develop, implement, and maintain the firm’s knowledge management (KM) strategy, systems, and processes. Reporting to the Program Management Director, this position ensures that critical technical knowledge and references are captured, organized, and made readily accessible to operations. The role collaborates closely with the quality working group, technical communities of practice, project managers, and operational leadership to enhance collaboration, strengthen and streamline information flow, improve access to technical standards, and promote the effective reuse of technical expertise across operations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support and manage Schnabel’s KM system (i.e., shared resource drive) to ensure consistent organization and classification of technical standards and references, vendor portals, design guidance, software versioning, lessons learned, and best practice documentation, including processes for version and access control, tagging, ownership assignment, and document lifecycle management.
- Support building, refining, and maintaining taxonomies for technical communities of practice, project types, and operational processes.
- Help catalogue standardized templates and reusable project and technical references to promote consistency and improve access efficiency.
- Partner with IT on shared resource drive enhancements, including AI‑assisted search and improvements to information architecture.
- Help develop and maintain KM-related standard operating procedures (SOPs), design guides, and technical libraries in coordination with quality requirements.
- Support development and delivery of training and guidance to staff on KM tools, processes, and best practices.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required, Masters preferred in one of the following disciplines:
- Information Science / Library Science
- Knowledge Management
- Business Administration
- Organizational Development
- 3 years of experience in knowledge management, information management, project management, or related roles.
- Experience in an AEC (architecture, engineering, construction) firm or professional services environment preferred.
- Experience working with:
- SharePoint, Teams, or other collaboration platforms
- Information management platforms systems (e.g., Bentley ProjectWise, Newforma, Deltek, etc.)
- Proficiency with enterprise content management systems.
- Ability to develop and organize technical standards, templates, and guidance documents.
- Experience or interest in learning AI‑powered search or document‑classification tools
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
- Strong analytical and organizational capabilities.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality control.

- PMP – Certified Project Management Professional
- Six Sigma Certification

The compensation range for this position is between $83,500 to $105,000. Compensation for this position may vary based on geographic location and other factors. We remain committed to providing competitive and equitable compensation to all employees, regardless of their location.
