What are the responsibilities and job description for the CDL-A Regional Tanker Driver position at Scharf Transport, Inc.?
About the Opportunity: Scharf Transport is looking for a CDL Class-A tanker driver to join our team! We transport fluid dairy from plant to plant (absolutely no farm pickups) across the Midwest, Mideast, Great Lakes, and South (Texas) regions.
We believe driver pay should reflect how much and how hard you want to work. Unlike other companies that run their drivers into the ground, we offer the flexibility to balance your schedule with your earning goals. You will always be home for your 34-hour reset, and you can expect a respectful, professional environment.
Why Drive for Scharf Transport?
- The Odometer Advantage (62 CPM): We pay for all odometer miles driven. We don't use PC Miler or zip-to-zip software that shorts your actual miles by 5–10%. Our 62 CPM on the odometer puts significantly more money in your pocket than competitors offering the same rate on computer miles.
- Guaranteed Accessorial Pay:
- Stop Pay: $25 per stop (paid for each pickup stop and each delivery stop)
- Drop & Hook Pay: $15 for each drop and hook
- Detention Pay: $25/hour (starts 2 hours after appointment time)
- High Earning Potential: Company drivers can earn up to $110,000 on W2, with total earnings based entirely on your availability and how hard you want to run.
- Respect for Your Privacy: Outward-facing dash cams only. We do not use driver-facing cameras.
- Home Time: Flexible schedules that let you run at your pace. You will always be home for your 34-hour reset.
- Affordable Health Care: We pay 50% of your health insurance premiums.
Benefits
- Health, Dental, and Vision insurance (50% employer paid health premiums)
- Paid time off (PTO)
- Paid orientation
- Holiday incentives
What You’ll Do
- Safely operate well-maintained Peterbilt 579s with tank trailers to transport fluid dairy plant-to-plant.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
