Electrical Sales Representative

Schaal Plumbing, Heating & Cooling is looking for a driven Electrical Sales Representative to help homeowners choose the right electrical solutions for their homes in the greater Des Moines area. This role is ideal for a confident, goal-oriented professional who enjoys building relationships, solving problems, and turning opportunities into results.

The Electrical Sales Representative is responsible for generating and closing profitable residential electrical sales, from initial consultation through follow-up and referral. You will work closely with our installation and service teams to ensure a smooth experience for every customer.

Pay: $60,000 – $90,000 per year

What You’ll Do

• Conduct in‑home consultations and present electrical solutions that align with customer needs and Schaal’s quality standards.
• Prepare and present clear, accurate proposals within company pricing guidelines.
• Manage the sales process from lead to close, including follow-up, job review, and requesting referrals.
• Coordinate with office and installation teams on job details, scheduling, and financing.
• Use company technology and CRM tools to document visits, proposals, and outcomes.
• Communicate job requirements and customer expectations to installation teams using written notes, photos, and diagrams as needed.
• Participate in sales meetings and ongoing training to stay current on products, codes, and best practices.

What You Bring

• Prior experience in in‑home sales, electrical service, or home services (HVAC, plumbing, or similar) strongly preferred.
• Basic understanding of residential electrical systems; journeyman/master license or field experience is a plus.
• Strong communication and customer service skills with a consultative, solutions-focused approach.
• Highly self-motivated, comfortable working toward targets, and able to manage your own schedule.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and Saturdays, to meet customers when they are available.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary and commissions with total targeted earnings between $60,000 and $90,000 per year, depending on performance and experience.
