What are the responsibilities and job description for the Startup and Commissioning Technician position at SCG MECHANICAL LP?
Way Mechanical is a mechanical contractor located in Irving, TX. We specialize in installation of commercial air conditioning, plumbing, piping, and the maintenance of these systems. We are currently seeking for an experienced Startup & Commissioning Technician to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Review equipment submittals and Controls submittals for compliance with contract documents
- Assist Project Managers with coordination of equipment start-up and Commissioning.
- Work closely with Control Subs and Equipment Vendors during Startup and Commissioning.
- Manage Commissioning deficiency logs ex: Cx Alloy.
- Review and complete Pre-Functional Checks & Functional Performance Tests
- Diagnosing HVAC, refrigeration, and performance through observation, testing, and setup
- Ability to perform troubleshooting and preventative maintenance on HVAC and Plumbing equipment
- Operate hand tools, power tools, gauges, and measuring equipment
Qualifications:
- Ability to follow construction plans and specifications for proper installation and repair.
- Must be able to pass a drug screen.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record
- Stable work history showing responsibility and professional growth
- Ability to effectively communicate with peers, supervisors, and the customer.
- Prior experience with building automation systems (BacNET, Low Voltage Wiring, Control Valves, etc..)
- Prior HVAC Technician experience
- Experience with laser pump alignments, Air Handlers, Fans, Cooling Towers, Chillers, Dx Split, VRF etc.. working on equipment commonly found in commercial building applications.
