Way Mechanical is at the forefront of design build/design assist, preconstruction, commissioning, building information modeling, and quality control.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate mechanical labor across multiple job sites.
- Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and long-term schedules for labor crews.
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels for each project phase, adjusting resources as needed.
- Assign tasks to team members and monitor productivity and quality of work.
- Oversee performance evaluations and address disciplinary issues or grievances.
- Collaborate with project managers to understand project scope, timelines, and labor requirements.
- Track labor hours, review timesheets, and ensure accurate reporting for payroll.
- Assist in preparing project timelines and work schedules, ensuring labor allocation aligns with project deadlines.
- Coordinate material and equipment deliveries in conjunction with labor schedules.
- Serve as the main point of contact for labor-related issues between the office, field supervisors, and job site personnel.
- Work closely with the HR department on recruitment, hiring, and training of mechanical labor.
- Communicate with clients, general contractors, and other subcontractors regarding labor schedules, changes, and project progress.
- Assist in managing labor costs by controlling overtime and ensuring efficient workforce utilization.
- Monitor project budgets and labor expenditures, providing regular reports to upper management.
- Identify potential cost savings through improved labor efficiencies and optimized crew deployment.
Qualifications:
- Technical training or certification in mechanical or construction management is preferred
- 7 years of experience in mechanical installation, including field supervision.
- Prior experience managing labor for a mechanical subcontractor in the construction industry.
- Experience with scheduling software and understanding of labor forecasting.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, installation techniques, and safety regulations.
- Proficiency in project management and scheduling software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Procore, Bluebeam).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders.
