Description
Scentsy is looking for a Senior Tax Manager to oversee the preparation and filing of all required income tax returns for various partnerships, S-corps, trusts, and individuals. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 5-7 years of senior tax experience focused on HNW individuals, S-corps, partnerships, and trusts with a strong background in real estate. The successful candidate must be self-directed and exercise a high level of independent judgment.
What You'll Do:
- Evaluate implications of partnership transactions by utilizing knowledge of partnership, individual, and trust taxation to communicate potential considerations to the broader internal service team
- Coordinate internally and with external service providers on investment partnership structuring, transactions, and administration
- Manage external service providers
- Liaise between in-house investment managers, outside advisors, and internal service teams when evaluating new investments
- Manage tax projects from initiation to completion, which includes planning, executing, and directing work while effectively controlling time and expenses
- Develop and recommend tax planning techniques and services for individuals with a high net worth
- Perform technical tax research and analysis and written memorandums
- Prepare and review income tax projections; identify and document tax planning positions
- Manage federal and state tax audits and negotiate tax positions
- Interact closely with the company, the company owners, and their advisors
- Recognize complex technical issues, reach appropriate conclusions, and apply authority to support conclusions
- Assist with educating the internal service team on the impact of partnership transactions to the individual and trust partners
- Perform all other assigned tasks and requirements as needed
We're Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Tax
- 5 years of tax compliance and advisory experience with a focus on high-net-worth individuals and flow-through entities
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification required or other professional certification relevant to specialized services areas
- Public accounting experience
- Knowledge of federal, state and local tax laws and tax compliance
- Experience with review and preparation of all forms and schedules related to individuals, S-corporations, partnerships, trust, gift tax returns
- Excellent research, analysis, and problem-solving skills
- Strong technical tax accounting, and technology skills
- Proven ability to work on multiple engagements and adhere to tax deadlines
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, as well as strong presentation skills
- Exceptional customer service and consulting skills
- Excellent organizational, time management, and project management skills
- Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
