Scents by the Bay is a locally owned, handcrafted bath, body, and fragrance company known for our custom perfume blending experiences, clean ingredients, and highly personalized customer service. We are looking for an outgoing, self-motivated team member who is excited to grow with us and become part of a creative, fast-paced retail environment.
About the Role
This is not your typical retail position. In addition to sales, you’ll be immersed in the art of fragrance and customer experience.
You will:
- Guide walk-in customers through the store and create a welcoming, elevated experience
- Learn and teach introductory perfume blending experiences (full training provided)
- Lead small group experiences (1–8 clients) in perfume blending and scent education
- Educate customers on fragrance families, notes, and product usage
- Assist with custom scent creation and hands-on experiences
- Sell, cross-sell, and upsell with confidence and authenticity
- Maintain merchandising standards and restock products
- Assist in the production of our handmade products
- Open and close the store independently (including register and key management)

Requirements
- Prior retail experience required
- Must provide 3 professional references (non-family members)
- Must be available to work weekends
- Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities solo
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Comfortable speaking in front of and engaging small groups

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $19.18 - $20.00 per hour
