What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant - Cashton position at Scenic Bluffs Community Health Centers?
Summary
The individual will provide support for the finance functions of the Health Center. This position is a part-time position (16-24 hours) per week.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with yearly 1099 filing
- Research and produce reports on accounts and vendors when requested
- Lead reconciliation of general ledger accounts at month end
- Determine and Process Journal entries at month end
- Promote the mission, vision and values of the organization in all interactions
- Maintain and organize general ledgers, recording, and reporting transactions.
- Prepare key financial documents including revenues and expenditures, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Reconcile various accounts, including bank accounts and general ledger accounts, to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
- Help with budget preparation and forecasting processes.
- Assist in preparing and filing tax returns and ensuring compliance with tax obligations.
- Support the month-end and year-end financial closing processes, including preparing journal entries and accruals.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
A bachelor's degree in accounting or similar field is strongly preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of the Bachelor's degree, such as four years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. An accounting or similar field Associate's degree is required.
Communication Skills
The individual must possess strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization. Communicate with patients, families, communities, other health professionals and co-workers in a responsive and responsible manner to support a team approach to the maintenance of health and the treatment of disease. Engage others, appropriate to the specific care situation, in shared patient-centered problem solving.
