Contract Length: 1 period a day/3 days a week during school days. Contract will be given by semester and based on a minimum of 15 students enrolled.
Qualifications:
Applicants must:
- Hold or be eligible to obtain a valid Iowa teaching license with 9-12 Physical Education endorsement.
- Demonstrate knowledge and experience in:
- Personal fitness programming
- Weight training and strength & conditioning
- Exercise safety and proper lifting techniques
- Developing individualized fitness plans
- Possess strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Be committed to promoting healthy lifestyles and positive student relationships.
Job Responsibilities:
- Essential Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging personal fitness instruction aligned with district curriculum and Iowa standards.
- Supervise students in the weight room and fitness areas while ensuring safe use of equipment.
- Instruct students on proper exercise techniques, fitness principles, and injury prevention.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records of attendance and grades.
- Foster a positive, safe, and motivating learning environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal.
