Project Manager / Estimator with Ownership Track

SCC is a premier, family-owned structural steel fabricator established in 1972. We are seeking a highly driven Project Manager/Estimator for a truly unique opportunity. This role is structured as a long-term succession plan, designed to groom the right candidate to eventually transition into company ownership. You will work directly with the Owner and act as the crucial link between our clients and our fabrication operations, managing projects from initial bid to final erection while being a key part of our leadership team and progressively learning the executive management of the business.

• Perform takeoffs from architectural and structural plans to prepare accurate, competitive, and comprehensive proposals for structural steel fabrication and erection projects.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and daily communications from the initial contract award through final delivery and installation.
• Collaborating closely with the Engineering/Detailing team, shop foreman, erectors, and engineers to ensure constructability and smooth project execution.
• Procure materials, negotiate with vendors and subcontractors, and manage inventory to maximize project profitability.
• Administer project contracts, track RFIs, and proactively manage change orders.
• Learn the financial, operational, and strategic aspects of running a steel fabrication business under the direct mentorship of the current ownership.

• Strong capability to read and interpret architectural and structural blueprints.
• Highly driven, organized with strong communication skills.
• A true entrepreneurial mindset with the long-term ambition to grow with the company, assume executive responsibilities, and transition into ownership over the next decade.
• Mechanically minded with construction experience and/or manufacturing experience
• Good computer skills including Excel.
• Preferred: Experience in structural steel and/or erection
• Preferred: CAD drafting experience

• Years 1-3: Master SCC’s estimating and project management workflows, build trust with our existing client base, and consistently deliver profitable, on-time projects.
• Years 3-7: Expand our client portfolio, take on executive-level operational and financial responsibilities, and assist ownership with company-wide strategic planning and shop floor optimization.
• Years 7-10 : Finalize the transition into an ownership role, taking charge of the overall strategic direction, business development, and profitability of Structural Components Corp.
