Position Overview
The Engineering Department is responsible for new product design, manufacturing, quality assurance, customer technical support, evaluating customer returns, and other related functions. This position will initially focus on customer technical support and evaluation of customer returns. Technical support includes but is not limited to resolving field issues or questions via phone and email support. Additional opportunities for other roles within the group and within the company are based on performance. The person who fills this role will report to the Engineering Manager in Elk Grove Village, Illinois.

Specific Duties / Responsibilities
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting to customers via email and phone
- Recreate and test customers’ control setups in-house to diagnose issues
- Learn SCC’s products from a technical perspective by evaluating and testing customer returns
- Perform monthly customer returns closeouts
- Write technical literature for new products
- Occasional travel may be required
Basic Requirements
- BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Engineering Technologies, or other technical degree
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Work well in a team environment
- Excellent customer service skills
- Good time management skills
Desired Skills
- Receptive to learn new skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Experience in instrumentation including temperature, pressure, and flow
- Hands on experience with basic control wiring
- Hands on experience with mechanical assembly and disassembly
- Previous experience in the combustion controls industry
- Experience working in a technical field
- Knowledge of burners and combustion
- Knowledge of 3D modeling software
- Positive attitude when approaching new challenges
