What are the responsibilities and job description for the Office Assistant position at Scarlet Larkin Inc?
We are a group of pediatric speech-language pathologists and nurses who serve young children by going to their homes in four nearby counties. We prioritize children on Colorado Medicaid, but accept a variety of payment sources. Our office sets the tone for our group by "holding the center" of our practice. Our office is located off the garden of my home in historic old town Longmont. This is a quiet space with a garden fountain and office kitty. This position would be the primary support to our Executive Assistant, who oversees the full scope of our practice. Office assistant responsibilities include running eligibility and billing, accepting new referrals, making charts, reconciling payments, monitoring email, and answering phones. The office assistant's role includes being a primary support to the therapy staff. This might involve running errands and ordering materials. Although our office tasks are straight forward, there are some complexities to our setting. Best fit personalities for us over the past 20 years have been individuals who are calm and cheerful, able to contain stress, detail oriented and able to keep consistent attendance. Patients/families are not seen in our office setting. The overall environment is peaceful, while we tackle larger Medicaid issues together. Mastering this job can take several months. It can take 6-12 months to see all of the tasks that may fall under your "umbrella." A typical week's office assistant starting schedule would be Monday through Thursday 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. As our practice grows in 2024 and 2025, additional hours will be needed. Merit raises are awarded during the annual review.
Lastly, because of my neuro history, I have experienced more long term side effects from Covid-19. Although I respect all choices on this matter, I need an office assistant who is fully vaccinated and willing to stay current with boosters, per CDC guidelines because of the close proximity of our work environment. Thank you for understanding.
