Senior Control Valve Technician
Scallon Controls is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Control Valve Technician to join our team in Beaumont, Texas.
We are looking for a seasoned professional with strong hands-on experience in control valve repair, diagnostics, testing, and field service support. This role includes both in-shop repair work and field service work at customer sites, including refineries, plants, and industrial facilities.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong mechanical background, the ability to troubleshoot complex valve issues, and experience working directly with customers in the field.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
• Perform inspection, troubleshooting, repair, rebuild, calibration, and testing of control valves, actuators, regulators, and related instrumentation
• Diagnose valve performance issues and provide repair recommendations
• Disassemble, inspect, clean, rebuild, and reassemble valves and components in the shop
• Conduct bench testing, seat leakage testing, pressure testing, and functional testing
• Perform field service work at customer sites, including valve removal, installation support, troubleshooting, startup assistance, and outage / turnaround work
• Read and interpret valve specifications, datasheets, technical drawings, and repair procedures
• Identify failed components, recommend replacement parts, and ensure repairs meet OEM and customer standards
• Prepare accurate service reports, inspection documentation, and repair findings
• Work closely with customers onsite to communicate repair status, findings, and recommendations
• Maintain a safe work environment in both shop and field settings
• Support emergency service calls and scheduled customer maintenance needs
Qualifications
• 5 years of control valve repair / valve technician experience strongly preferred
• Extensive knowledge of control valves, actuators, positioners, and valve accessories
• Experience working in refinery, petrochemical, or industrial plant environments
• Strong understanding of valve diagnostics, testing, and repair procedures
• Experience performing both shop repairs and onsite field service work
• Ability to read valve drawings, specifications, and technical manuals
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift valves, actuators, and related equipment
• Ability to work in shop and industrial field environments
• Ability to wear required PPE
• Ability to travel locally to customer sites as needed
